In 2008, Tekla launched the web browser based interactive tutorial ‘Tekla Structures First Steps’. Serving as an introductory learning page by simulating the actual use of Tekla Structures, the First Steps page was designed to give the prospective Tekla Structures User a glimpse on how to use the software solution.

With more construction companies being mandated to implement BIM (Building Information Modeling) to their workflow, Tekla has now launched the 'BIM First Steps' page.
Utilizing actual models used in previous live projects, the BIM First Steps page goes beyond just teaching anyone how to use Tekla Structures. The tutorials are BIM-centric, focusing on model collaboration, clash detection and RFI Management. Construction companies and contractors are now realizing the benefits of implementing BIM and this segment stands to benefit from the Quantity Takeoff, estimating and model based scheduling tutorials.
Like the First Steps Tutorials, the page is well designed, with prompts that familiarize you with the Tekla Structures Interface. Overall, The First Steps with BIM page is quite impressive and we highly recommend it to anyone or any firm that is considering implementing BIM to their workflow.
